All eyes turn north of the border this weekend and it could pay to side with Olly Murphy’s Ayrshire invasion as The Wolf bids to claim a fourth career success in his toughest test to date.

The son of Kapgarde ran a cracker at Musselburgh in the Edinburgh back in February when giving the winner 13lbs and only be downed by three-quarters of a length.

He has only tasted victory once over fences, on debut, but has placed on four occasions and his only below-par run this campaign at Doncaster can probably be forgiven as he was travelling strongly before making a brutal mistake three out.

His efforts since suggest he is crying out for a real stamina test such as this and his yard are coming back into form at the right time.

The Ferry Master has to be feared off 5lbs lower from his fourth in this race twelve months ago, while Win My Wings was a game-winner of the Eider and will have no problems with the trip.
