About the Race

The William Hill Extra Place Races Every Day Novices Hurdle Race is a Class 3 National Hunt hurdle race for novices that serves as the opening race of The William Hill Becher Chase meeting every December.

Open to horses aged four years old and above, The William Hill Extra Place Races Every Day Novices Hurdle runs 2 miles and 209 yards of Aintree’s Mildmay Course and features a number of high hurdles for the novices to negotiate.

Six runners fought for a share of the £9,100 prize pool last December, which was shared proportionately between the first four horses to successfully complete the race. Here’s how much was assigned to each placement position:
