ROMAIN DE SENAM – 4:05 AINTREE (66/1 – Coral + Ladbrokes)
After being named the third reserve in the Grand National, it seems very likely that Romain De Senam will head to the Topham Chase instead with his current price raising eyebrows.
The gelding has only been seen one this season so far, but he put up a respectable campaign in 2020/21 after landing success in a 2m4½f handicap chase at Musselburgh and placing on two other occasions.
The 10-year-old has switched yards in recent time and his one start under David Pipe saw him pulled up in the Midlands Grand National.
He is currently only 1lb above his last winning mark and the booking of a 7lb claimer in the saddle could well benefit him in this contest.
A return to a shorter trip could revive him here and at the whopping price of 66/1, Romain De Senam could well produce a big run here.
