After the announcement of Min’s retirement by trainer Willie Mullins, we take a look back at one of his finest performances over fences – in the Melling Chase at Aintree back in 2019.
Going off as the 2/1 favourite, the gelding flew into the lead from the off and led his rivals around the track.
The then eight-year-old was allowed to race freely in front and he was building on his lead quite substantially heading into the final stages.
Willie Mullins’s gelding began to pull away from his challengers and was clear by two out, as he thundered down the home straight.
Min landed success by a whopping 20 lengths, recording his fourth Grade 1 success for his connections.
The gelding went on to win three more Grade 1 contests, including a victory at the Cheltenham Festival in the 2020 Ryanair Chase.
