With only 24 hours remaining until the Grand National Festival gets underway, the aintree.co.uk team have been tearing apart the cards in hope of pinning down some winners.

The final day of the three-day meeting holds the feature race as well as the likes of the Maghull Novices’ Chase and the Liverpool Hurdle.

Here are the squad’s best antepost bets for the third day of the Grand National Festival.

THIRD TIME LUCKI – Maghull Novices’ Chase (7/2)

Under the guidance of Dan Skelton, Third Time Lucki could well put up a fight against Edwardstone in the Maghull Novices’ Chase.

The gelding is currently a 7/2 shot for the race, with his rival currently holding a 4/7 price tag. That hints at no value whatsoever so it could well be worth taking a chance on the second favourite here.

Edwardstone has got the better of Third Time Lucki on two occasions this season, but the latter could well have more to offer here and might have a squeak if this race has come too soon for the favourite.

THOMAS DARBY – Liverpool Hurdle (12/1)

A respected veteran from Olly Murphy’s yard, Thomas Darby could produce a big run in the Liverpool Hurdle at a decent price.

The gelding finished third in last year’s renewal and has put up a fair campaign this season, striking in the Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury back in November.

He has run well in Grade 1 company previously and he could well be one to watch in this race if there’s some cut in the ground.
