The exciting Gypsy Island is set to make her return to the racecourse for the first time in over two years at Tipperary on Thursday afternoon.
JP McManus’s seven-year-old daughter of Jeremy was last seen winning a Grade 2 Mares Flat Race at the Punchestown Festival in 2019, a contest that’s form has worked out very well subsequently in the process.
Daylight Katie and Minella Melody, who finished second and third in the Mares’ Bumper at the Grand National Festival in reverse order a month earlier, chased the four-time winner home in County Kildare.
She will feature in the opening race of the day at 4:20pm, the Hotel Minella Mares Maiden Hurdle.
The smart mare repartners Mark Walsh on Thursday for the first time since her only defeat at Navan back in November 2018, where she was beaten by none other than the current Champion Chaser, Put The Kettle On.
That remains her only start to hurdles so far, but she will surely take all the beating on her return and looks to have been found a good opportunity to open her account over timber.
Action at Tipperary gets underway at 4:20pm on Thursday afternoon and concludes at the finale of the 7:30pm contest.
