A trio of runners that featured at Aintree’s June meeting three weeks ago are set to compete at Newton Abbot on Friday afternoon.

The Bees Knees, who finished a distant third behind Ruthless Article at the Merseyside track, returns to action and carries top weight in a 2m5f Novices’ Handicap Chase.

The gelding makes his third start over fences for Fergal O’Brien and has been stepped up in trip once again, after finishing in the top three on both of his runs over the larger obstacles.

The six-year-old lines up in a small field of five runners, but he will need to show some improvement if he is to be competitive here.

Koi Dodville, who claimed the 2m½f Juvenile Hurdle at the June meeting at Aintree, aims to continue his unbeaten start over obstacles for new trainer David Pipe.
