A quintet of runners that have featured at Aintree and Cheltenham this year return to action over the next few days at Worcester and Perth.
Dolciano Dici, who featured in the Martin Pipe and the April Meeting at Cheltenham, lines up in a 2m7f Handicap Hurdle at Worcester on Wednesday.
Trained by Brian Barr, the gelding has seen a slight fall in the ratings after finishing 53 and 46 lengths behind the winner in two of his last three starts.
However, he did produce one of his best performances to date in a three-mile handicap hurdle at Cheltenham in April, finishing fourth at odds of 100/1.
The eight-year-old is priced up at 20/1 for the contest in Worcester and will need to show major improvement on his last outing at Ffos Las.
He is joined by Grand National Festival attendee The Vollan, who finished last of 22 runners in the Grade 3 Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle for Charlie Longsdon.
A trio of Aintree & Cheltenham runners feature on Perth’s card on Thursday, with two of them declared in a three-mile handicap chase.
Neil Mulholland’s Fingerontheswitch, who ran in the Ultima Handicap Chase back in March, returns to action after finishing a distant fourth at Market Rasen last month.
The 11-year-old has also experienced a slight decline in the ratings and is now only 3lbs above his last winning mark.
Fergal O’Brien’s Ocean Cove, who ran at the last Aintree meeting three weeks ago, holds an entry in the same contest.
Presentandcounting finished runner-up in a Novices’ Handicap Chase at the Merseyside track in the same meeting, with Donald McCain hoping that he will go one better at Perth on Thursday in a 2m4f chase.
